Evangelistic Restoration Church History

On June 30, 1997, a special meeting was called for the purpose of organizing a new ministry. The meeting was held at Trinity Fellowship Baptist Church located at 6935 Bellfort in Houston, Texas at 7:00 p.m. This new ministry was birthed from the vision of God by the direction of His Holy Spirit and breathed life into it on this day.

Pastor Gary Scott of Trinity Fellowship was Moderator of this organizational meeting and came forth with instruction and exhortations to this mission body and after several questions was posed to the body a name was needed. The selected name was “Evangelistic Restoration Church” publicly, socially, and spiritually referred to as E.R.C. Application for Church Membership cards were passed out to all those persons present that desired membership in Evangelistic Restoration Church and at 7:48 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 1997 this mission body was birthed into a church. After roll call was made, 73 persons with nine candidates for baptism were seeking membership as the founding members of Evangelistic Restoration Church.

Ministries were organized such as Hospitality which included Ushers & Greeters, Cup and Armor Bearers, Pastor’s partners, Intercessory Prayer Ministry, Video Tape Ministry and Music Ministry. We have since added a Child Care Ministry and Praise Dance Ministry, and Banner Ministry.

Our First Church service after organization was held on July 6, 1997 at Pentecostal Baptist Church located at 5350 South Acres in Houston, Texas with services beginning at 8:00 a.m. We worshipped at that location for seven months. We then moved to the Fellowship Hall of Greater Mt. Zion Church located at 5330 Van Fleet in Houston, Texas. We worshipped at that location for 8 months. We then moved to the Braeswood Hotel until January 1999. Our last Worship Center before moving to “Our” new location was located at 11626 Cullen Blvd in Southeast Houston. (Old Roberts Auto Bldg). 

We are now at “Our” new location 5002 Wilmington St. located in Southeast Houston, Texas
